A little about me

 

Jenna Schaefer is a multifaceted artist, recognized as an accomplished actor, director, and choreographer based in Toronto.

Her journey began at George Brown College in the Dance Performance Studies Program. Upon graduation, Jenna transitioned into filmmaking, applying her choreographic sensibilities to narrative storytelling.

Jenna's on-screen presence has garnered critical attention, particularly in the Shudder original horror film, The Strings. She also starred in Benevolent, which went on to screen at 16 festivals across North America, and is now available to stream on Amazon Prime in the US & the UK.

Behind the camera, Jenna has proven herself as a capable and reliable director. She recently directed an episode of Unrepentant – Iconic Women in History, a web series produced by acclaimed Canadian actress Jennifer Dale. Additionally, Jenna mentored under Nataline Rodrigues of Vortex Media, where she developed and completed her concept film Friend of a Friend, a nuanced exploration of female friendship and internalized misogyny.

Her work extends beyond film, with notable collaborations as a choreographer and director for both stage and screen, partnering with esteemed institutions such as the Royal Conservatory of Music, dance: made in canada, George Brown College, RT: Collective, and New Blue Emerging Dance.

Jenna’s transition into narrative filmmaking is a natural evolution of her artistic journey. With a strong foundation in choreography and performance, her work demonstrates a unique fusion of movement and storytelling, bringing a distinctive voice to her projects.

A proud Hufflepuff, Jenna balances her artistic pursuits with a love for travel, astrology, scrapbooking, and her growing passion for plants.
